So it’s been a little time since I’ve jumped into any DAW and created any new music. But it’s a new year and I have so many ideas in my head I’m having a hard time trying to keep up with my brain. Wow 2013 look how far we’ve come. At this point I think I’ve survived 5 apocalypses but I’m still pushing the boundaries of my imagination because that’s what I’m here for. Forget all that hodgepoge and create art to offset catastrophe, right? Well, that’s what I think. Anywho…. . . .
Here’s my new logo. I really like the color combination I chose. So much so I shifted the colors of the site to match them and was quite satisfied with the result.

Happy Holidays everyone. This one’s a bit late but it was tough getting Santa to come out just for a second so I could take a picture of him.

A new character for the design section. This one was done in Sketchbook Pro 6. I’ll have the WIP pics for you to see soon. This went through many iterations.
I have a passion about what I do. I feel at my most centered when I’m fishing into my imagination and creating characters and all sorts of cool things to draw. I’ve been a character designer for 10 years and have worked independently as a freelancer during that time having experienced a multitude of projects ranging from logos, business cards and brochures to Character Design, Storyboards and Flash Animation which is my current focus.
I’m very proficient in most Adobe Creative Suite programs as they are my creative tools of choice alongside various 3D programs like Maya, ZBrush & Cinema 4D.

These are the tools I’m most comfortable using but am not limited to.
I held a contest for my page which I’ll be doing again soon where I draw a personification of the next 10 people to like my facebook page. I also commission these so if you’d like a characterized version of yourself just contact me at farawaynearby@gmail.com and put the words : “characterize me” in the subject header so I can identify the humans amongst all the junk mail.
Here’s another example of how I go about coloring in Flash. I always have these bouts of creativity when I wake up in the morning. I was listening to my buddies band out in Ireland called Oppenheimer while I was drawing this. Funny his mouth somewhat resembles a Hippopotamus so I made a wee word play out of the 2. Well, kind of 
. 
Aside from it being 4:48 AM and me being super exhausted I did manage to crank out a few new pieces. This one is a Coral Angler. I haven’t quite figured out the specifics to this creature yet but I plan on drawing him quite often.
